As part of a bold step to eradicate persistent communication barriers within healthcare, the expert team at GLOBO Language Solutions has introduced GLOBO KAI. This is an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven interpreter, which was designed explicitly to aid healthcare providers in bridging the gaps in communication. Designed as an extension of the current GLOBO Connect platform, the new solution is a real-time, on-demand language interpretation service that enables government agencies and employees to communicate in more than 20 languages. The introduction of GLOBO KAI marks a tremendous step in offering quality, affordable, and convenient language services to patients all around (particularly the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients who are usually the most vulnerable in healthcare settings.

GLOBO Launches KAI

In contrast to the current AVT, which often requires access and booking, GLOBO KAI 9 increases fast, context-sensitive linguistic support during clinical and non-clinical situations using AI. The check-ins and pharmacy visits, time slot selection, and discharge directions. All these are the areas where the tool is specifically designed to facilitate reduced language friction on the part of patients and greater productivity on the part of frontline employees. In early 2025, the technology began a multi-site pilot program that encompassed providers throughout Illinois, Louisiana, and Michigan.

In addition to instant versatility, GLOBO KAI 0 introduces a scalable and cost-effective health systems model. Federally funded healthcare programs, in particular, are under pressure to do both, i.e., to reduce costs and increase access and equity, despite the financial implications of the same. Nevertheless, the account goes way beyond dollar signs and productivity. Language barrier means that, on a systematic level, LEP patients end up at a disadvantage in health outcomes. There are misdiagnoses and medical errors, there are higher readmission rates, and longer stays, on average.

The other intriguing factor about KAI is that it is an integration hybrid within the larger GLOBO sense-making ecosystem. Instead of taking over the role of human interpreters, KAI supplements the human in-person, telephonic, and video-based interpretation services. This mixed system covers the case when complex, emotionally charged, and/or sensitive conversations are present. Additionally, a small part of daily administrative contacts can be easily delegated to KAI, thus providing interpreters with the maximum availability where they are needed most.
