Introducing a More Convenient Treatment Option

Alkem Laboratories has strengthened its diabetes and obesity care portfolio with the launch of semaglutide in single-shot pre-filled syringes across multiple dose strengths. Priced from INR 350, the new offering is designed to make treatment more accessible and affordable for patients. The company noted that it is the first pharmaceutical manufacturer in India to introduce semaglutide in this ready-to-use syringe format, providing a convenient alternative for individuals requiring long-term therapy.

Regulatory Approval Supports Market Expansion

The launch follows approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), allowing Alkem to manufacture and market semaglutide pre-filled syringes for the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. The therapy is intended to be used alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise. By securing regulatory clearance, the company has broadened the availability of semaglutide-based treatment options for patients and healthcare providers across the country.
