Dongwon Systems Partners with Dow to Advance PCR Shrink Films Market Growth
Dongwon Systems Signs Joint Marketing Deal with Dow for Eco-Friendly Shrink Film
The company's Advanced Film Business Division signed a joint marketing agreement with Dow for eco-friendly shrink film. The two companies plan to co-develop and launch shrink film using Dow's post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) materials.
The initiative aims to shift the domestic shrink film market, used for bundled packaging of bottled water, beverages, and household products, toward eco-friendly materials, which is approximately 500 billion. Converting Dongwon Systems' current orders to eco-friendly shrink film is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 500 tons annually.
According to Towards Packaging, the Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Shrink Films Market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 966.27 million in 2026 to approximately USD 1363.45 million by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.9% from 2026 to 2035. The main goal is to reduce the use of new fossil fuel-based plastics by using PCR materials for more than 30% of plastic raw materials.
