Dynapower’s Next-Gen MV Integrated PowerSkid to Accelerate Renewable, Battery, and Hydrogen Energy Deployment

In an effort that will be described as a giant leap in changing the energy infrastructure of the world, Dynapower, a Sensata Technologies company and a well-known player in energy storage and power conversion solutions. The company has unveiled its next-generation MV Integrated PowerSkid. Designed to be deployed in utility-scale applications, the system is an advanced version of the utility-scale system currently being installed worldwide by various utilities and independent power producers (IPPs).

The PowerSkid 60-A is specific to renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hydrogen applications, meeting an emerging need for efficient, modular, and scalable power infrastructure. This ground-breaking PowerSkid is completely containerized, shipped in a 20-foot ISO high cube galvanized steel platform, and removes the logistics and schedule uncertainties that often accompany field installation. Its turnkey solution enables project developers to cut down the commissioning times and land utilization with a smaller footprint and faster realization of returns on investment due to improved operational reliability.

The MV Integrated PowerSkid is an exceptional product in a marketplace looking forward to plug-and-play deployment and system-wide interoperability. The 5th generation CPS-2500 converters by Dynapower transformer offer high power density, very high-speed response, and high energy efficiency to a wide range of medium-voltage applications. The system is constructed using the established engineering of the company to deliver stable and intelligent power conversion to enable the incorporation of intermittent renewable sources, storage systems.

The PowerSkid also features a package of grid-forming and stabilization features, such as Islanded Operation, Black Start capabilities, VARCompensation, Dynamic Transfer 1, and Frequency Compensation Mode. The PowerSkid TM fits every box in the viewpoint of installation and scalability of EPCs and developers of large-scale, geographically dispersed projects. It offers a low logistical burden since it can be shipped in one unit, does not require assembly in the field, and radically decreases engineering complexity.
