Fortis Healthcare and Takeda India Launch Mission Dengue Free India to Strengthen Community Awareness and Prevention
In September 2026, Fortis Healthcare and Takeda India announced the launch of ‘Mission Dengue Free India’, a nationwide disease awareness campaign aimed at strengthening community awareness, promoting preventive health behaviors and encouraging early recognition of dengue symptoms.
According to the National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC), more than 1.13 lakh dengue cases were officially reported across India in the year 2025. However, experts believe the actual burden is likely to be higher, as many patients may not seek care at medical facilities. India continues to account for nearly one-third of the global dengue burden, with seasonal outbreaks placing pressure on healthcare systems during the monsoon months.
While advances have been made in diagnosis and treatment, awareness around prevention, early symptom recognition, and timely medical intervention remains inconsistent. Fortis Healthcare and Takeda India have come together in order to drive a public awareness initiative focused on prevention, providing individuals and communities with scientific information on dengue prevention and management.
The collaboration has been facilitated with the support of Mitsui & Co., which played an instrumental role in bringing together Fortis Healthcare and Takeda India. The partnership reflects a shared vision of fostering innovative collaborations that contribute to improved public health outcomes through education and community engagement. As India continues to witness recurring dengue outbreaks, both organizations believe hospitals have a critical role to play beyond clinical care by strengthening public awareness, improving health literacy, and supporting preventive healthcare.
Impact on the Healthcare Market
As part of the campaign, Fortis Healthcare and Takeda India will roll out physician-led awareness initiatives across selected Fortis hospitals and communities. These will include educational sessions for Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), schools, colleges and corporates, expert-led public talks, doctor-authored articles, digital awareness campaigns, educational video podcasts, social media initiatives, hospital-based awareness programs during the dengue season and dedicated digital resources. These initiatives will help individuals recognize symptoms early, adopt preventive measures, and seek timely medical care.
Activities will also consist of social media engagements and hospital-based awareness programs specifically designed for the dengue season. This multifaceted approach further aligns with the World Health Organization’s integrated framework for dengue prevention, which focuses on community education, vector control, timely detection, and appropriate treatment measures, along with vaccination where relevant and consistent with national guidelines.

Impact on the Mosquito-Borne Infections Testing Market
The global mosquito-borne infections testing market size was calculated at USD 27.11 billion in 2024 and is predicted to increase from USD 28.15 billion in 2025 to approximately USD 39.52 billion by 2034, expanding at a CAGR of 3.84% from 2025 to 2034.
According to Precedence Research, the increasing global prevalence of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, chikungunya, etc. is a major force driving the growth of the mosquito-borne infections testing market. As these diseases spread rapidly across both tropical and temperate regions, there's a growing demand for early, accurate, and accessible diagnostic testing. Increased International Travel and Migration have accelerated the cross-border transmission of infections, thus introducing new populations and heightening the need for surveillance and screening at points of entry.
Artificial intelligence is also helping to revolutionize the blood glucose monitoring space by enabling predictive, personalized, and real-time management of blood sugar levels. Advanced algorithms can analyze continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data to forecast fluctuations and suggest timely interventions. AI-powered apps offer dietary recommendations and insulin dosage alerts based on individual glucose trends.
Impact on the Mosquito Repellent Market
The global mosquito repellent market size was estimated at USD 5.91 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 6.25 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 10.11 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 5.52% from 2026 to 2035.
According to Precedence Research, the growing health concerns, more knowledge of mosquito-borne diseases, and a growing need for mosquito control solutions have all contributed to the market's notable expansion in recent years for repellents. The mosquito repellent market is growing as a result of growing consumer knowledge of the health concerns connected with mosquito bites. The creation of novel and potent formulas, such as organic and herbal repellents, draws in customers who are concerned about their health.
The industry has also benefited from increased public awareness campaigns and educational initiatives by governments and health organizations regarding the risks posed by mosquito-borne illnesses and the significance of utilizing repellents. Customers are actively looking for ways to shield themselves and their families from health dangers, such as mosquito bites, as they become more health-conscious. This pattern helps the mosquito repellent market expand. As part of their vector control initiatives, a number of nations and international health organizations are encouraging the use of insect repellents.
