Embraer and Mahindra Group to Set Up C-390 Millennium MRO Facility in India for Indian Air Force
Embraer and the Mahindra Group have announced that they will set up a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul(MRO) facility in India for the C-390 Millennium aircraft. This move comes as a part of their support for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft requirement and in extension of their partnership agreement signed in October 2025 for the production of aircraft in India. This new facility will provide comprehensive services such as base and heavy maintenance, structural inspections, component repairs, avionics and training services.

The C-390 Millennium is a state-of-art military transport aircraft with a payload capacity of 26 tons and a mission success rate of over 99 percent. The aircraft has the ability to operate from temporary or unpaved runways and is designed to perform a variety of tasks including cargo and personnel transport, airdrop, medical evacuation, firefighting, search and rescue and humanitarian aid delivery.
The MRO facility is expected to improve the operational readiness of the Indian Air Force while supporting the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives of the Indian government. This MRO facility will provide high-skilled employment opportunities and help Indian Aerospace companies become part of Embraer’s international supply chain. Both countries emphasize that the MRO facility will provide high aircraft availability and a comprehensive sustainment solution.
C-390 is already in use by air forces in Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, Netherlands, Austria, South Korea, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia and Lithuania. Embraer has a presence in India in the commercial, defense and business aviation segments with 50 aircrafts of 11 different types in service.
