MAXSAF: Cleaner Future for Flights

Montana Renewables has unveiled a new fuel product called MaxSAF. This fuel is made for airplanes and is more environmentally friendly. Also, it is certified under ASTM D7566 and ASTM D1655 specifications as per the company's claim. Furthermore, this new fuel is a mix of two types of fuel. It is made by combining renewable fuel and normal fossil jet fuel. The mix is about 50% renewable and 50% traditional fuel. Also, the company has set up special facilities to mix and send this fuel. These facilities are located at their site and help in preparing and shipping the fuel easily.

Moreover, this fuel is designed in a way that it can be used directly in existing airplanes. There is no need to change engines or systems. It works with current fuel systems without any problem. Montana Renewables is working together with another company called AEG Fuels. This partner will help in delivering the fuel to different places.  Also, at the beginning, this fuel will be supplied to selected airports and aviation hubs. These places are in Montana, Washington, and Oregon.

According to Towards Chem&Materials, the U.S. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Market size accounted for USD 5.19 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 6.67 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 64.01 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 28.56% from 2026 to 2035, due to the trend towards sustainability.

Reducing Emissions with Smart Fuel

The company says this fuel is important for many reasons. It helps the company reach more customers, even outside big airports. Moreover, it helps customers like airlines. They can use this fuel to reduce pollution and meet their environmental goals. It also helps them show they care about the environment. Also, it is better for the environment. This type of fuel can reduce greenhouse gas emissions when compared to normal jet fuel. It can also improve air quality. The fuel is made using different renewable materials. These include things like used cooking oil, plant-based oils, and other agricultural byproducts.

Montana Renewables says they are one of the few companies in North America producing this type of fuel at a commercial level. Also, this launch is an important step toward using cleaner fuel in aviation. It shows how companies are trying to reduce pollution and move toward more sustainable energy solutions.
