National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna public sector company under the Ministry of Mines, has launched a new product called IA91 grade aluminium alloy ingot. Also, this new alloy is part of the company’s effort to expand its value-added aluminium product range and serve more industrial applications.

The IA91 alloy is a silicon-based aluminium casting material. Also, it is specially designed to offer a balanced combination of properties such as good castability, strong mechanical performance, and resistance to corrosion. Because of these features, it is suitable for advanced manufacturing needs where quality and durability are important.

This new alloy is mainly developed for casting processes like gravity die casting and low-pressure die casting. Also, these methods are widely used in industries that require precise and strong components. The alloy is expected to perform well in these processes due to its stable and reliable properties.  

According to Towards Chem&Materials, the aluminum alloys market size accounted for USD 245.11 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 261.9 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 475.45 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 6.85% from 2026 to 2035, due to the trend toward lightweight and durable product. 

Moreover, NALCO has been working to move toward more advanced and value-added products. This launch supports that direction by offering specialized alloys that meet modern industrial requirements. It also strengthens the company’s position in both domestic and industrial markets.
