Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Galux to jointly develop a next-generation AI-based siRNA delivery platform. This agreement combines Galux’s AI-based delivery design with OliX’s OASIS siRNA platform to enable more precise siRNA therapeutics and support future joint research and commercialisation.

Based on this partnership, the two companies plan to expand joint research and explore business opportunities. The siRNA therapeutics field has recently been shifting from a liver (hepatic)-centric focus toward extrahepatic tissues. In response, OliX is advancing its “OliX 2.0” strategy by pursuing research into extrahepatic targets and broadening tissue applications using its proprietary OASIS platform.

According to Towards Healthcare, the Small Interfering RNA (siRNA) market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 4.52 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 16.91 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.8% from 2026 to 2035. Growth is driven by the increasing incidence of genetic disorders is a significant driver of the market, as siRNA can target and silence genes associated with these diseases and improvements in drug delivery systems, such as lipid nanoparticle formulations, have enhanced the stability and targeting capabilities of siRNA, expanding its therapeutic applications.

About OliX, Galux Sign MOU details

This collaboration aims to combine Galux's AI-driven delivery design with OliX's OASIS siRNA platform, enhancing the precision of siRNA therapeutics and supporting future research and commercialisation efforts. The partnership reflects OliX's strategy to expand its focus from liver-centric targets to broader applications, including research into extrahepatic tissues and blood-brain barrier technologies.

Building on this foundation, the platform is being extended to increasingly challenging target classes, including GPCRs and ion channels. The company has established co-development partnerships with major domestic pharmaceutical companies such as Celltrion and LG Chem, and recently announced a collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim.

Proceeds from the financing round will be used to further enhance its AI platform, expand R&D infrastructure, and accelerate preclinical validation of proprietary pipelines.

A recent report by Towards Healthcare highlights that the Small interfering RNA (siRNA) market is witnessing growth due to the focus on is a rapid increase in the market's focus on neurological disorders, reflecting the increasing demand for personalised medicine and supported by the increasing prevalence of genetic disorders and the demand for targeted therapies.

North America leads the siRNA therapeutics market with a significant share, especially in the United States, where the market is experiencing rapid growth. This region has become the hub of innovations in the biopharmaceutical industry, leading the siRNA therapeutics market.

The Asia Pacific region is projected to be the fastest-growing market, driven by increasing biotech investments, improving regulatory frameworks, and a growing population burdened by genetic and chronic diseases.
