Hartford HealthCare (HHC) and K Health announced the launch of a new tool serving as a “24/7 AI bridge” as artificial intelligence becomes an increasing source of healthcare information. The announcement stated that PatientGPT is designed to provide personalised education and guidance through secure access to medical records.

This development marks a significant moment in healthcare. PatientGPT, an AI tool, is integrated within the HHC patient portal and app, and is currently being introduced in a limited rollout. release phase, with plans for broader deployment.

The platform is designed to connect patients to actual care seamlessly. If the AI interaction indicates a need for a provider, patients can instantly connect to HHC 24/7 virtual care or schedule an in-person visit, bridging the gap between digital triage and human treatment.

According to Towards Healthcare, the AI in Virtual Health Market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 7.53 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 127.64 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 36.95% from 2026 to 2035. Growth is driven by the increasing demand for efficient diagnostics, personalised medicine, and improved patient care delivery with the digitisation of patient data, the prevalence of chronic diseases, and the need for sustainable healthcare practice.

How PatientGPT Supports Patients and Clinicians

PatientGPT supports both patients and clinicians by providing a 24/7 AI tool that offers personalised education and guidance based on individual health data. The tool is designed to streamline communication between patients and healthcare teams, helping to address non-urgent informational needs and allowing clinicians to focus on diagnosis and patient engagement. It aims to improve healthcare accessibility and efficiency while maintaining the human relationships at the core of care.

For clinicians, summaries of chats are available for review, providing additional context before visits and helping streamline routine informational exchanges.
