The Robotic-based joint replacement centre aims to tackle the risks of loss of mobility and challenges with day-to-day actions faced by patients living with severe knee pain.

The VELYS Robotic-Driven Solution is intended to offer physicians real-time data during knee replacement and to support targeted surgical planning based on every patient’s anatomy.

The technology is CT-free, meaning an extra pre-operative CT scan is not needed for healthcare planning.

The technology is designed to help the surgeon’s decision-making, while clinical judgement remains significant to patient selection, treatment planning, and the decision on whether robotic-assisted surgery is suitable.

Furthermore, the hospital has positioned robotic-assisted joint replacement in its wider Mobility Restoration Programme, which involves preventive and conservative strategies, specialist orthopaedic evaluation, surgery where clinically indicated, structured rehabilitation and follow-up care.
