Syensqo Launches Lightweight Kalix LD-4850 Polyamide for Electronics
Syensqo Introduces Lightweight Polyamide for Electronics
In October 2025, Syensqo launched Kalix LD-4850 BK000, a lightweight, high-performance polyamide (HPPA) for consumer electronics. This new material enables up to 30% weight reduction in devices while maintaining superior strength. The material is already being adopted by leading smartphone manufacturers.
Advanced Electronics Optimization
Designed for weight-sensitive applications like frames, brackets, and AR/VR components, Kalix LD-4850 delivers high strength and stiffness with minimal warpage and low dielectric properties. This unique blend promotes the development of lighter, slimmer, and more comfortable devices, which aligns with the current hardware trends. This new HPPA grade allows manufacturers to meet consumer demands for portability and performance by significantly reducing weight without compromising durability or aesthetics.
According to Towards Chem&Materials, the electronic hydrofluoric acid market size accounted for USD 1.85 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 1.97 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 3.48 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 6.52% from 2026 to 2035 as demand for ultra-high-purity etching and cleaning agents is increasing in the fabrication of semiconductor wafers.
Earlier, Syensqo has launched the industry’s first certified circular high-performance elastomers and lubricants. Produced at its Spinetta Marengo site in Italy, these materials are made using recycled content.
Semiconductor Industry Expansion Accelerates the Electronic Hydrofluoric Acid Market
- The major market driver is the demand for high-purity chemical cleaning, etching, and surface preparation in microelectronics. The shift towards innovative nodes needs high-purity e-HF to reduce device defects.
- The surge in EV sales is growing the demand for battery materials, especially lithium hexafluorophosphate, a major component in batteries manufactured using hydrofluoric acid.
- Rise in demand for high-end LCD and LED displays is propelling the demand for e-HF in etching processes.
- The industry is shifting towards higher-purity specifications (UP, UP-S, UP-SS), enabling suppliers with innovative purification technology to command premium pricing.
- Extensive global investments in AI data centers and 5G/6G networks are driving a double-digit increase in consumption for advanced chips.
