The company, based in Paris, catalysing AI precision testing, announced that it has entered a collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo that leads digital pathology biomarker discovery for an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) program.

With deep expertise across diverse pathology and multimodal data, and a global data network spanning academic institutions, hospitals, and laboratories, Waiv has a proven track record of delivering AI-powered biomarker solutions across the full drug development lifecycle.

According to Towards Healthcare, the Immunohistochemistry Market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 3.73 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 8.05 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.94% from 2026 to 2035. Growth is driven by the rising cancer prevalence and a growing geriatric population. Escalating rates of chronic illnesses require accurate diagnostic tools, positioning IHC as an essential method for biomarker detection and cancer subtyping, and growing demand for biomarker-based tests that guide precise treatment selection. IHC is critical for pairing patients with the correct targeted biologic or drug, avoiding trial-and-error treatments.

With this collaboration, Waiv will apply its end-to-end computational pathology platform to early-phase data, which includes analysis across both hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) stained samples, as well as biomarker discovery and outcome prediction capabilities aimed at identifying biomarkers of treatment response ahead of next clinical trial phases

About Waiv

Waiv is a Paris-based biotechnology company that transforms digital pathology images and clinical data into AI-native precision tests. In the immunohistochemistry (IHC) and digital pathology markets, Waiv specializes in applying computational AI to H&E and IHC-stained slides to detect hidden biomarkers and predict patient outcomes in minutes.

It uses advanced foundation models trained on global datasets to analyse both H&E and IHC-stained samples. uses advanced foundation models trained on global datasets to analyse both H&E and IHC-stained samples.

The AI platform is specifically optimized to extract robust predictive signals from small datasets (fewer than 100 patients), helping pharmaceutical companies identify biomarkers for treatment response long before later-stage trials.

About Daiichi Sankyo's

By combining targeted antibodies with potent cancer-killing payloads, Daiichi Sankyo's DXd platform delivers highly effective treatments with lower toxicity. This proprietary technology is the foundational driver for their entire pipeline.

Daiichi Sankyo is extending its R&D scope beyond ADCs into multi-specific antibodies, targeted protein degradation, and siRNA technologies to ensure long-term, sustainable pipeline momentum.

A recent report by Towards Healthcare highlights that the Immunohistochemistry Market is witnessing growth due to the shift toward digital pathology & automation slide stainers and digital pathology tools is significantly boosting diagnostic accuracy and laboratory efficiency, with companion diagnostics being a major opportunity, allowing for targeted therapies based on specific patient biomarkers.
