Wizz Financial brings UPI to international visitors through new cross-border wallet
In September 2025, Wizz Financial launched the Wizz Financial App, a digital platform that brings remittances, foreign exchange, payments, and other financial services together, with connectivity to India’s UPI ecosystem for residents, non-residents, and eligible international customers.
The app was unveiled at the Global Fintech Festival 2026 and combines Wizz Financial’s digital capabilities with its India network, which serves more than 5 million customers through over 360 branches across 22 states. Customers can now use the platform for inward and outward remittances, foreign exchange, multi-currency prepaid cards, lending solutions, UPI transfers to India, bill payments, and mobile recharges. The app also includes travel and visa-related services.
A key component is SWITCH, Wizz Financial’s proprietary interoperability infrastructure. It is also designed to connect the company’s applications across the US, UAE, and India with participating third-party wallets and financial platforms. SWITCH enables money transfers across the Wizz Financial ecosystem, while the company’s proprietary payout network supports cross-border payouts to more than 80 countries.
The platform also connects Wizz Financial’s US and UAE offerings with India’s UPI ecosystem, enabling eligible users to make real-time transfers into Indian UPI accounts. Through the UPI One World framework, eligible international visitors can use the Wizz Financial App to make cashless payments across India, subject to applicable regulatory requirements and prescribed limits.
The launch is part of Wizz Financial’s strategy to build an integrated financial platform connecting customers and businesses across key cross-border economic corridors, including India, the GCC, Southeast Asia and the US.
