YPO Introduces its MMC framework for the UK public sector

YPO launched a new four-year Modular Buildings and MMC framework, offering public sector bodies a compliant procurement route for flexible building solutions. With 29 suppliers across 15 lots, the agreement covers options ranging from temporary classrooms to turnkey building delivery.

Procurement Methods

Customers can access the framework via a Competitive Selection Process (CSP) or through Award Without Competition (AWC) for speed and efficiency. This move highlights the shift toward modular construction, which is faster, more flexible, and greener than traditional building. As budgets tighten and infrastructure needs grow, it's becoming the go-to practical alternative. This framework streamlines procurement by offering a pre-approved, compliant route that reduces administrative burdens and accelerates project timelines. It replaces complex, time-consuming tendering procedures with a structured process designed for efficiency and regulatory compliance.

According to Towards Chemicals & Materials, the commercial green construction market size accounted for USD 795.19 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 881.47 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 2,227.55 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of XX% from 2026 to 2035 as demand for commercial green construction is increasing across the globe.

Corporate Sustainability & ESG Goals Accelerate the Commercial Green Construction Market

  • Major companies are heavily investing in green buildings to fulfill social, Environmental, and Governance (ESG) commitments to environmentally aware investors.
  • Governments are increasingly enforcing necessary green building codes and providing incentives for sustainable construction.
  • Advancements in sustainable building materials, renewable energy integration, and smart HVAC systems are optimizing market growth further.
  • A surge in health awareness among building owners and tenants regarding indoor air quality and its impact on the environment can fuel market growth soon.
