The launch aligns with AABL’s premiumization goals and addresses shifts in consumer preferences for the modern food and beverage industry. India’s RTD and hard seltzer markets are expanding, driven by rising demand for tasty, convenient drinks, especially among Gen Z and millennials. Kultur Hard Seltzer offers five flavours, including Cranberry, Watermelon Mint, Lemon, Mai Tai, and Juniper Triple Sec, in 330 ml cans, crafted for social and daily use. Madhya Pradesh’s urban lifestyles, disposable incomes, and preference for premium experiences make it a significant market for cities like Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, driving growth in social drinking, retail, and nightlife. Consumers preferred light, easy-to-drink, bold-flavoured brands that embody a modern lifestyle.

AABL focuses on restructuring India’s drinking culture for a new generation. Madhya Pradesh is vital for us, with young consumers eager for premium, innovative drinks. Kultur’s launch highlights our focus on innovation and building a diverse portfolio. Introducing Kultur bolsters AABL’s focus on innovative, premium products, with distribution in urban Madhya Pradesh through retail, HoReCa channels, bars, cafes, and nightlife locations. Its portability makes it crucial for social events and casual occasions, contributing a modern visual alternative to traditional drinks.

Impact on Ready to Drink Sector

The global ready to drink beverages market size was calculated at USD 112.70 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 120.03 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 211.55 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 6.50% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the Indian Beverage Association noted a high demand for packaged drinks among urban and semi-urban groups, emphasizing the market's swift growth. The launch of Kultur Hard Seltzer significantly transforms the Indian Ready-to-Drink (RTD) segment by promoting premiumization. As India represents an emerging ecosystem where urban population, especially millennials and Generation Z consumers, seek alternatives, shunning heavy, calorie-rich drinks. Traditionally, the domestic RTD market depended on sugary alcopops or regular beers.

AABL meets this demand with a refined product that emphasizes low sugar, fewer calories, and transparent labels, which fuel the market growth. Indian consumers are interested in fitness-minded young adults; this product moves the RTD scene from being an occasional indulgence to a consistent lifestyle choice. This shift in consumer preferences compels the alcoholic beverage sector to reassess its offerings, highlighting that light, low-ABV drinks are now expected across the market.

Impact on the Food and Beverage Sector

Precedence Research highlights that the broader food and beverage industry is experiencing a macroeconomic shift towards mindful consumption and convenience. The growing trend of low-sugar, no-alcohol, and RTD drinks is further expanding India’s beverages market globally. Consumers now prefer clean-label, functional products that support health-conscious lifestyles while still allowing them to enjoy social experiences. As the main and leading manufacturers like AABL shift their supply chains to focus on RTD innovations.

Domestic players are moving towards health awareness, driving increased investment in cold-chain logistics, local ingredient sourcing, and advanced canning technologies nationwide. Additionally, this trend prompts traditional hospitality and retail sectors to reallocate shelf space, moving from high-sugar mixers to more sophisticated, sessionable options. Overall, hard seltzers are established as a lasting, highly profitable category that will influence future market growth, rather than just a passing trend.

Kultur Hard Seltzer is a strategic expansion for AABL, aligning with India's growing alcoholic beverage market trends, especially among young consumers who prefer moderation, convenience, and variability. Launching Kultur signals AABL's move into a popular emerging category, with long-term goals of shaping consumer habits. Additionally, raising awareness, offering flavours suited to Indian tastes, ensuring premium availability, and targeted marketing.

According to experts, the rising demand for beers, RTDs, and spirits underscores the need for strong branding. Positioning Kultur as a modern, occasion-based beverage can give AABL an early edge. Overall, Kultur signifies a move toward premiumization and adaptation to changing consumption habits, with the potential to lead in this growing food and beverage industry.
