Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, announced at the 5th Annual Conference of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery – Asia Pacific (SMISS-AP) in Mumbai the development of Adani’s Artificial Intelligence-powered healthcare facilities, featuring world-class amenities at affordable prices. The process will be initiated from Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The Mayo Clinic is guiding the project to ensure apt designs and implementation, meeting global standards in medical infrastructure and research.
Mr. Gautam Adani, in his statement at the conference, said, “We will be delivering on this promise through the Adani Healthcare Temples --1,000-bed integrated campuses that we will initiate from Ahmedabad and Mumbai. These healthcare infrastructures are designed to be world-class, affordable, AI-first healthcare ecosystems, and we are proud to have the Mayo Clinic guiding us on the design, implementation, and global standards in medical infrastructure and research.”
Mr. Adani also stated that the group is preparing for a significant investment of $100 billion over the next five years in the healthcare sector, describing it as a manifestation of India's future. Recalling his initial entrepreneurship days and the hardships he faced, Mr. Adani also stated, "It never begins with a grand vision; It begins with a spark of conviction; It begins with the courage to act, even when the future is uncertain, and it begins with the willingness to dream alone."
The chairman of the Adani Group also credited his success to the Mundra project in Gujarat, which served as an initial step in understanding the highs and lows of business. He said, "It all started in Mundra to build a salt export jetty along with a US partner. To make a long story short, the partner backed out, and we were left to build the jetty by ourselves. Around this time in 1995-96, Gujarat pioneered a Public-Private Partnership policy for port development, aiming to tap private sector capabilities. We dived right in; keep in mind that we had never laid a brick before. A port in a marshland to be built by a team with no construction experience!" he added. He also added, “Mundra is the manifestation of a belief made real," he stated. Mundra is home to India's largest multi-cargo port, the world's largest private single-site thermal power plant, a massive integrated solar and wind manufacturing hub, and clusters of industries including petrochemicals and copper smelting.”
