A ChatGPT maker, OpenAI, has recently launched its own web browser, Atlas, putting it in direct competition with the sole leader in the browsing domain, Google. Many internet users are highly dependent on Google's recently launched Artificial Intelligence mode to get precise answers. By making a popular AI chatbot its gateway for online searches, OpenAI could gather significant internet traffic. The revenue from advertising would be substantial, making it highly valuable and contributing to the startup's status as a leading global entity. It is also possible that people won't frequently use internet searching if this web browser, named At Atlas, summarizes the whole concept in a more understandable and natural tone for users. This is an alarming sign of Google’s monopoly in the current market state.

According to claims by ChatGPT, their numbers suggest that ChatGPT already has more than 800 million users and will later reach Microsoft's Windows, Apple’s iOS, and Google's Android phone systems. A CEO of OpenAI called it a “rare, once-a-decade opportunity to rethink what a browser can be about and how to use one.”  However, market analysts suggest that it will be a huge challenge, competing with an already established tech giant that has a ridiculous market share.

The launch of a new web browser, along with an executive's interest in purchasing Google's industry-leading Chrome browser, was permitted by a federal judge to enhance its use in preventing data abuse, as Google's search engine has been declared an illegal monopoly. But a U.S. district judge has issued a statement rejecting the sale of chrome, which the U.S. Justice Department sought in this case. He further said, by justifying this decision, that the advancements in the AI industry have already reshaped the competitive landscape and will continue to do it.

Chrome’s massive achievement could offer a blueprint for OpenAI as it steps into the browser market, similar to when Microsoft’s Internet Explorer was dominant. Chrome quickly attracted its consumers by providing unprecedented advantages.
