BBG Advanced Therapies Launches Mobile Leukapheresis Center, in Collaboration with Kite to Bring CAR T-cell Therapies Closer to Patients.
BBG progressive therapies, a subsidiary of nonprofit BioBridge Global (BBG), announced a partnering with Kite, a Gilead Company and worldwide leader in cell therapy, to deploy BBG Advanced Therapies’ Mobile Leukapheresis Center (MLC) in Texas design a significant milestone in patients' access to Kite’s CAR T-cell therapies that are personalized cancer treatments made from a patient’s own cells.
Kite has supported innovator CAR T cell therapies, altering the outlook for patients with different blood tumors. Operating in Texas, the MLC is a first of its kind platform that brings the initial T-cell assortment step directly to patients in their communities, aligning with Kite’s approaches to scale access to cell therapy and reach more eligible patients closer to home. By meeting patients where they live, this technology lowers travel and caregiver loads, shortens logistical pathways, and supports the clear major challenges to broader acceptance of well-developed therapies.
“Kite has treated more than 34,500 patients with CAR T-cell therapy more than any other company yet only about 2 in 10 eligible patients in the U.S. receive these treatments today,” said Adrienne B. Mendoza, MHA, Chief Operating Officer of BBG Advanced Therapies. “That gap underscores the need for new access models. Kite’s experience building one of the world’s most advanced cell therapy ecosystems makes it an ideal collaborator as we expand the infrastructure needed to bring these potentially curative therapies closer to more eligible patients in Texas.”
When the initial T-cell collection or leukapheresis is complete, the T-cells are then sent to a Kite facility, where a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) gene is added and where the cells multiply. After a limited time, the patient’s cells are returned to an Authorized Treatment Center, where the consumers get a one-time infusion.
These treatments encompass a patient’s own cells, accuracy, consistency, and chainâofâidentity are nonânegotiable. BBG's well-developed therapies confirm that each collection meets advanced quality standards and is entirely integrated in Kite’s GMP producing workflow, reinforcing the strength and dependability of the endâtoâend supply chain.
About BBG Advanced Therapies:
The novel branch of San Antonio-based nonprofit BioBridge Worldwide, BBG Advanced Therapies, offers new and custom services to speed up the advancement of cell and gene therapies. BBG advanced therapies characterised a completely integrated and custom portfolio of novel services, involving gathering and processing of starting materials, testing, clinical trials support, and biotech solutions.
According to Towards Healthcare, the cell and gene therapy market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 10.44 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 47.18 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.1% from 2026 to 2035, driven by gene and cell therapy work by modifying approximately which has gone incorrect at a genetic or cellular level. This means that researchers need to comprehend what has gone wrong and where it has gone wrong. These cell and gene therapies substitute a gene that is not functioning appropriately with a functional gene (gene replacement therapy) or modify the faulty gene so that it functions properly (gene editing).

A recent report by Towards Healthcare highlights that the cell and gene therapy market is witnessing growth because cell and gene therapies are evolving as a transformative force in rare disease treatment. Both therapies aim to treat, avoid, or possibly cure diseases, and both strategies have the strength to lessen the fundamental cause of genetic diseases and various acquired diseases. These therapies are revolutionizing medicine by providing potential cures for diseases previously considered incurable. CGTs have made a standard shift in drug development, with quick growth and emerging technologies.
