Clearstream, the post-trade business of Deutsche Börse Group, launches next-generation digital securities infrastructure for both tokenised and traditional securities markets. The platform will allow toasters to add any type of security to their digital wallet, and will be working to be fully digital-first and hybrid, with the market participants holding a traditional security, a digital asset, and cash in the same wallet.

Advancing Digital Infrastructure for Securities Markets

This next-generation infrastructure is a seamless blend of Clearstream's expertise in post-trade services and blockchain financial systems, and a single securities platform. The initiative aims to enable the use of cases such as large block tokenisation, blockchain settlement, and collateral re-use for transactions. Clearstream is launching the next generation of financial market infrastructure and Europe's first digital financial market infrastructure for clients globally.

Stephanie Eckermann, Member of the Executive Board, Deutsche Börse Group, and Chairwoman of Clearstream, stated, “Clearstream is unveiling the next generation of financial market infrastructure and Europe’s first digital securities infrastructure serving clients globally. We are proud to lead this transformation, connecting investors and issuers to bring investment flows where they are needed and reshaping the future of digital finance.”

According to Precedence Research, the security market size was calculated at USD 182.53 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 197.68 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 389.65 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 7.88% from 2026 to 2035, with a need for faster detection of fraud and making intelligent investment decisions in the market.

Industry Impact and Outlook

The adoption of blockchain and tokenisation in the institutional financial sector is also being seen more often, for example, in the Clearstream digital securities platform. To optimise their operations with greater efficiency and transparency, flexibility, and fully meet their digital asset management requirements, financial institutions are increasingly investing in hybrid platforms that integrate a combination of securities management and digital asset solutions.

Through cooperation with the market participants and technology partners, Clearstream is building a new framework that can rejuvenate investment flows between markets and around the world.
