Cook Medical Commercially Launches Two New Urology Products.

According to the company, Cook Medical has commercially launched two new urology products, the Syfonix suction ureteral access sheath and the 7.5 Fr Ascend single-use flexible ureteroscope. Both are single-use products used in ureteroscopic kidney stone management procedures and are a part of Cook’s larger portfolio of urological products.
The Syfonix suction ureteral access sheath is designed to give physicians fingertip control over suction and visibility during surgery, creating a passage for endoscopes and ancillary instruments into the urinary tract.
The access sheath's inner diameter ranges from 9 Fr to 12 Fr and features a disposable stone collector, intended to collect kidney stone fragments and help adjust negative pressure during procedures.

Launch of new endoscopy product
Ascend includes an ergonomic scope, an easy flip-switch deflection lock, and a distal tip that features dual-LED lighting to illuminate the surgical site and adjacent areas. The ureteroscope includes an image processor for surgical teams to improve surgical site image quality by tuning with properties like colour, saturation, brightness, and contrast with the processor's proprietary algorithm to enhance image quality.
