Dexcom, a medical device maker, rolled out a new tab & stated that the application of its continuous glucose monitor, G7, results in optimized blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes not leveraging insulin, as compared with routine care, as per their ‌study results.

Moreover, the study demonstrated that participants employing Dexcom G7 gained clinically & statistically significant reductions in HbA1c levels & enhancements in timing range compared with those utilizing routine blood glucose monitoring. Also, the management shows the outcomes support empowering CGM adoption & assisting a new standard of care for the large Type 2 non-insulin diabetes population.

About the Study

A respective study was conducted for 26 weeks & tested 283 non-insulin utilizing diabetic patients, of whom half were put on Dexcom's G7 & half used self-monitoring of blood glucose. Meanwhile, several participants were on common diabetes medication, including metformin, GLP-1s, and SGLT2s. Moreover, participants with the Dexcom G7 noticed an average 1.6% reduction in their blood sugar levels at 26 weeks, a 0.9% increased reduction than those who employed self-monitoring.

Tamara Oser, professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz and the study's principal investigator, said that this study will majorly impact & it'll boost access for all people with type 2, such as those not on insulin, to CGMs.

According to Towards Healthcare, the India continuous glucose monitoring devices market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 189.42 million in 2026 to approximately USD 656 million by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.8% from 2026 to 2035.The market growth is propelled by the exploration of India as a centre for over 100 million people with diabetes, especially surging cases of type-2 diabetes, which is impelling the adoption of real-time monitoring technologies. Additionally, Indian health-tech platforms are pushing CGMs as mainstream biohacking & metabolic-scoring tools, expediting consumer-driven sales.

India Continuous Glucose Monitoring Devices Market Overview

Raising Local Production & AI-Powered Approaches

During the prospective period, the India continuous glucose monitoring devices market will have a key opportunity to employ impressive government schemes for fostering indigenous sensor assembly. This further reduces average selling prices by 10% to 30%, such as prototypes, including the IIT Madras reusable-electronics CGM, are evolved to halve lifetime expenditures. On the other hand, the market will reinforce breakthroughs in AI dashboards that translate raw glucose curves into actionable insights.

According to Towards Healthcare, the India continuous glucose monitoring devices market is expected to witness substantial growth, driven by rising diabetes prevalence, increasing awareness of real-time glucose monitoring, expanding digital health adoption, technological advancements, and improving accessibility of continuous glucose monitoring solutions across healthcare settings.
