Europe PE and PP Compounding Market Growth Driven by Recycled High Strength Plastics
Europe PE and PP Compounding MarketHigh-Strength Plastics Now Made from Recycled Materials
The Rialti has introduced new polypropylene (PP) compounds that include recycled materials. Also, these materials are a mix of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, which comes from used products, and post-industrial recycled (PIR) plastic, which comes from factory waste, as per the company's claim. These new compounds were introduced at an event called the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE). The main idea behind this development is to create plastic materials that are more sustainable but still strong and reliable for real use.
The new PP compounds contain around 30-40% PCR and 20-40% PIR content. This means a large portion of the material comes from recycled sources instead of fresh raw plastic. Also, even with this recycled content, the materials are designed to maintain important mechanical properties like strength and durability. Moreover, these compounds are mainly designed for applications where strength is very important.
According to Towards Chem&Materials, the Europe PE and PP compounding market size accounted for USD 19.45 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 20.59 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 34.34 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 5.85% from 2026 to 2035, due to the increasing need for cost-effective and durable materials.
Also, these materials provide a good alternative to virgin plastic. This means companies can use them to reduce environmental impact while still getting the performance they need. At the same time, they can also manage costs better, especially in industries where price is very important. Also, Rialti operates from Italy and has the capacity to produce around 50,000 tonnes of recycled PP compounds every year.
