Firstsource Solutions has made a strategic move to expand its footprint in the U.S. by acquiring TeleMedik, a Puerto Rico-based healthcare services and technology provider. This acquisition aligns with Firstsource’s long-term objective of strengthening its healthcare capabilities in the U.S., one of its key growth markets. The transaction was completed through Firstsource’s U.S. subsidiary and includes performance-based components, with a total consideration of up to USD 3 million.
In areas like medical management, care coordination, utilization management, and telehealth-enabled services, TeleMedik offers significant experience in healthcare operations with a well-established presence throughout Puerto Rico and some areas of the U.S. TeleMedik supports a variety of patient populations for health plans and providers. Through this acquisition, Firstsource will be able to enhance its current technology-led service portfolio with clinically driven capabilities, giving healthcare clients a more comprehensive offering.
It is anticipated that integrating Firstsources digital platforms, analytics, and automation solutions with TeleMediks clinical services will improve efficiency throughout the healthcare value chain. When the combined organization seeks to assist payers and providers in streamlining operations while preserving the quality of care, healthcare systems continue to struggle with growing costs, a lack of workers, and more complicated regulations.
