FSU to Host AIMLX26 Exploring the Future of Agentic AI
Florida State University is set to convene leading voices in artificial intelligence and machine learning for the 2026 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Expo (AIMLX26), a two-day event focused on the growing impact of agentic AI. This emerging form of artificial intelligence is designed to carry out tasks independently and adjust to changing conditions with minimal human oversight. The event will examine how such systems are transforming sectors including health care, finance, education and beyond.

AIMLX26 will take place Friday, Feb. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee. Organized by FSU’s Interdisciplinary Data Science Master’s Degree Program, the expo will feature researchers and industry specialists from FSU’s Department of Computer Science and School of Information, along with experts from major institutions and organizations across the country.
This year’s theme centers on intelligent, autonomous and collaborative AI systems and their influence on research, business and society. Sessions will cover multi-agent systems, large language model driven agents, decentralized AI frameworks, AI-powered scientific discovery and practical deployments in enterprise and health-related settings.
Zhe He, director of FSU’s Institute for Successful Longevity and professor in the School of Information, will present research on a multi-agent AI system designed to help older adults better understand laboratory results. His team’s project, LabGenie, translates complex medical data into clear, user-friendly insights to improve engagement, shared decision-making and health literacy.
The keynote address will be delivered by Sherwin Wu of OpenAI, who will review the evolution of AI agents since 2022 and discuss what lies ahead.
Saturday’s program will welcome the local K-12 community with faculty talks and hands-on activities, including robotics demonstrations, beginner coding exercises and interactive STEM challenges for learners of all ages.
