PreferCo and Glatt Unveil Hyderabad Facility for Precision Fermentation Manufacturing

PreferCo, together with German technology company Glatt, has opened a Centre of Excellence(CoE) for Precision Fermentation and Bioprocess Scale-Up in Genome Valley, Hyderabad. This new facility was launched at the BioAsia 2026 event and is expected to enhance the biomanufacturing landscape in India by offering a state-of-art infrastructure for fermentation-based innovation.
The new Hyderabad facility is intended to facilitate the scale-up of microbial fermentation processes from research to pilot and pre-commercial scales. It has been equipped with 1500 litre bioreactors, automation, high-quality instrumentation and AI-driven process analytics. These features will make the process more reliable and efficient. The new facility will help overcome the technical hurdles that often cause delays in the commercialization of fermentation-based products.
The CoE for Precision Fermentation and Bioprocess Scale-Up will be of great benefit to startups, research institutions and industry because it will provide them with access to pilot-scale facilities that are of international quality. The facility will be applicable to biopharmaceuticals, functional foods, sustainable materials, personal care products and bio-based chemicals.
