Google Launches Gemini Upgrade, Pioneering Search as a Collaborative Assistant

Google is unveiling its Gemini 3 artificial intelligence model across its dominant search engine and various popular online services, aiming to offer technology people can trust to manage repetitive tasks. This model was just launched by Google, nearly two years after the first iteration of its technology. Gemini was launched by Google in response to competitive pressure from OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which launched in 2022 and created a technological stir in the market after the iPhone's release in 2007.

The latest Google AI feature will be rolled out to Gemini Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S. before being presented to the global audience. The advancements in the Gemini 3 include an innovative AI 'thinking ‘capability within Google's search engine. According to company executives, this feature will become a highly useful tool that will help people be more productive and creative.

As AI models have become increasingly sophisticated, these advancements have raised concerns that technology is more prone to manipulating people’s feelings and thought processes, offering them information that is likely to be misleading or flattery. Many claim that these chatbots have become suicide guides for emotionally charged teenagers who are unable to process their emotions and don't know how to handle them. Similarly, several problems have surfaced later, including irreversible damage caused by AI’s improper training and negligence lawsuits against AI makers. Although nobody has yet targeted the Google-launched Gemini, it is a plus point.

By stretching this point, Google’s DeepMind division CEO wrote on his blog post, mentioning, “smart, concise and direct, trading cliché and flatter for insight, telling you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. It acts as a true thought partner.”

According to Google executives, they have built guardrails to prevent the Gemini 3 model from hallucinating or being used for sinister purposes, such as hacking their official websites and critical computing devices. Along with this, Gemini will serve as a tool for investors to gauge whether a massive torrent of spending on the technology will pay off.
