Huawei Unveils Smart Solar-Plus-Storage Platform Revolutionizes Grid Integration and Efficiency

Huawei has also introduced FusionSolar 9.0, the latest integrated platform of solar-plus-storage generation. This is equipped with intelligent energy management features that can change the operation of solar plants. FusionSolar 9.0 is designed with high-capacity inverters, sub-array controllers, plant-level controllers, and an AI-based PV management system. This technology transforms solar installations into dynamic grid-supporting assets instead of mere energy producers. This represents a strategic change for Huawei, focused on streamlining its operations and creating value for solar energy projects.

This platform is designed on the basis of four key elements that interact to maximize the performance of generation and storage. The 460-kW smart string inverter is a sub-array controller, plant-level controller, and built-in PV management system. These all make it possible to achieve greater grid stability, efficiency, and real-time monitoring. Through the integration of hardware innovation and sophisticated software analytics, Huawei seeks to deal with the high renewable penetration challenge and the ever-complicated energy systems. FusionSolar 9.0 can enable solar facilities to self-optimize their processes, foresee faults, and sustain output in poor environmental features, required in extreme weather conditions and elevated altitudes.

FusionSolar 9.0 brings in three major technological breakthroughs, which make it stand out from the previous solutions. The AC system in the kilovolt range elevates the plant-side AC voltage above the standard 800 V design, which cuts the cable losses by about one third. It also enables keeping fewer inverters on site, which will lower the initial capital cost of large ground-mounted solar systems. Huawei makes its platform technologically advanced and affordable to utility-scale solar developers by enhancing its electrical efficiency and lowering the cost of its infrastructure.

Huawei has also worked on making the system future-proof. FusionSolar 9.0 is developed to support the new energy storage technology, be compatible with digital grid management platforms, and support the scale of multi-megawatt systems. Its effective design and software enable the operators to meet the changing regulatory and dynamic electricity markets. Furthermore, the launch of FusionSolar 9.0 is one of many displays of the intention of Huawei to dominate the world of intelligent solar energy solutions.
