Johnson & Johnson MedTech announced the U.S. launch of INHANCE INTACTTM, a cutting-edge total shoulder replacement system designed to enhance surgical outcomes and accelerate patient recovery. A crucial muscle at the front of the shoulder, the subscapularis tendon can be preserved during shoulder arthroplasty thanks to this novel system's tissue-sparing technique. This tendon is frequently detached during traditional shoulder replacement procedures, which results in pain, instability, and prolonged recovery periods.

Through patient-specific 3D planning, INHANCE INTACTTM combines a stemless implant, 43 specially designed tools, and TRUMATCHTM Personalized Solutions to support anatomic precision, bone preservation, and surgical accuracy. Surgeons can produce reliable outcomes in a variety of care settings thanks to this extensive platform. Surgeons can perform shoulder replacement procedures with improved joint visualization thanks to the tissue-sparing technique made possible by INHANCE INTACTTM instrumentation. Additionally, by allowing shoulder movement as early as the first post-operative day, this method greatly minimizes pain and immobilization duration. This quicker recovery makes INHANCE INTACTTM perfect for ambulatory surgery centers and supports the move toward minimally invasive outpatient care.

Dr. Paul J. Favorito, M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at The Christ Hospital, emphasized the advantages of the INHANCE INTACT system, stating, “The simplified approach and precise instrumentation allow anatomic prosthetic reproduction of the glenohumeral joint along with proper soft tissue balancing.” The system's design aims to minimize or eliminate post-operative subscapularis failure, a potentially devastating complication after anatomic shoulder arthroplasty.

In the United States, INHANCE INTACTTM is now marketed commercially. A. During the October 15–18, 2025, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, it was on display. Attendees could explore the platform and get additional information from product and clinical experts. The INHANCE INTACTTM product page is recommended for surgeons who would like additional information or to check on product availability.

This launch marks a significant advancement in shoulder arthroplasty, offering patients a faster recovery, reduced pain, and a return to daily activities sooner than traditional methods. With its innovative design and patient-centric approach, INHANCE INTACT sets a new standard in orthopedic care.
