Mahindra Group created Ultrogen Hybren Private Limited to give a much-needed boost to the renewable energy segment by incorporating a step-down subsidiary under Mahindra Susten Private Limited (MSPL). The Mumbai-based step-down subsidiary has an authorized share capital of ₹15 lakh, which is fully owned by MSPL and operates under Mahindra Holdings Limited. Ultrogen Hybren will be an Independent Power Producer (IPP), focusing on providing distributed energy solutions.
This entity will offer rooftop solar installations, renewable energy resources, and energy storage systems. As a result, it aims to expand its energy offerings to meet India's growing decentralized generation requirements from renewable power sources. The new subsidiary is based in Mumbai and operates under the flag of Mahindra Holdings Limited, a wholly owned arm of Mahindra & Mahindra.
Ultrogen Hybren is a new firm under the Mahindra Susten brand and operates in India, registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, with an investment of 15 lakh rupees in 150,000 equity shares. Such investments align with Mahindra's long-term vision of sustainability and leadership in renewable energy solutions. The company will focus on reducing carbon footprints, increasing accessibility, and boosting economic growth by providing innovative energy solutions for various sectors. This reflects how the timely development of the Indian renewable energy market has evolved, as government policies now support a substantial surge in the steadily growing demand from end consumers for sustainable power sources. Mahindra has adopted rooftop solar installations as part of government initiatives such as the National Solar Mission. Under Mahindra Susten, Mahindra promotes sustainability through the provision of solar energy solutions. The introduction of two other giants in the corporate realm—Tata Power and Adani Green Energy—further strengthens this initiative.
Backed by strong financial resources and an innovative approach, Mahindra has everything it needs to overcome cash-related challenges in the renewable energy sector, such as high initial investments, technological limitations, and regulatory hurdles. Ultrogen Hybren can collaborate with industrial clients toward the dual goals of reducing energy costs and emissions, as well as developing new solar and hybrid projects, thereby creating ongoing international markets for environmentally sustainable energy solutions.
Mahindra and Mahindra have recently rolled out Ultrogen Hybren Private Limited, a subsidiary of Mahindra Susten Private Limited, to enhance renewable energy transitions in India. It will create distributed energy solutions, rooftop solar installations, and energy storage systems, reinforcing India's ambitious renewable energy objectives and paving the way for 280 GW of solar capacity by 2030, fostering a greener, low-carbon economy. Ultrogen Hybren will cater to the fastest-emerging needs for clean and decentralized energy solutions in the commercial, industrial, institutional, and end-user segments. Altogether, these factors make the company suitable for an independent power producer (IPP). Mahindra's foresight will position the company as a reliable and cost-efficient power alternative within reach for everyone while demonstrating its commitment to renewable energy adoption. Ultrogen Hybren will generate economic opportunities, create green jobs, and lead to long-term environmental benefits.
