Pan American Health Organization Launches Regional Procurement Initiative Featuring Infant Incubators to Improve Newborn Healthcare

The Pan American Health Organization(PAHO) has launched a new regional technical procurement package to improve maternal and neonatal healthcare systems in the Americas. This initiative, launched in February 2026, features infant incubators as part of a list of priority medical technologies that are considered essential for improving newborn survival rates.
This new procurement package is intended to assist member countries in acquiring high-quality medical equipment using a systematic and standardized approach. In addition to infant incubators, the package incudes fetal monitoring systems, neonatal resuscitation equipment and other essential technologies used in delivery rooms and neonatal units.
