In September 2026, Protectt.ai introduced an AI Security Platform targeting banks, non-banking financial firms, and insurers. This product facilitates testing of web and mobile apps during software release cycles.

The Mumbai-based security firm explained that the platform employs autonomous AI agents to simulate cyberattacks before applications reach users. Its goal is to integrate red-team testing into routine updates rather than restrict it to periodic assessments. With financial institutions releasing software more frequently sometimes weekly or daily there are risks of security gaps developing between formal reviews.

The platform continuously scans applications for vulnerabilities and evaluates whether multiple weaknesses could be chained and exploited, enabling security teams to test each release promptly. It combines three tools: RedPilot, an autonomous red-teaming system that mimics attacker behavior; WebScan, which tests web apps, networks, infrastructure, and APIs against over 30 attack scenarios; and AppScan, an upgraded mobile security product that conducts over 140 automated tests per build.

Designed for regulated organizations, the platform allows testing within a company's own environment, whether on-premises, private cloud, or hybrid. Importantly, application code and security findings are kept within the organization, with no data sent to external AI services, ensuring testing remains authorized and controlled by the company's security team.

Impact on the ICT Market

The launch comes as financial institutions face regulatory requirements for security testing alongside internal technology governance demands. In India, the Reserve Bank of India's Master Direction on IT Governance, Risk, Controls and Assurance Practices requires vulnerability assessments for critical systems at least twice a year and penetration testing at least once a year, as well as after major changes. Tasks such as social engineering, physical security reviews and some business-logic issues still require human judgment, the company said. The AI agents are instead intended to automate repeatable testing tasks that would otherwise be difficult to run with every software release.

The platform also produces reports with evidence of identified security issues and guidance for remediation, according to the company. These are intended to help security teams assess risk, fix vulnerabilities, and track changes across successive releases.

Impact on the BFSI Security Market

The global BFSI security market size accounted for USD 74.22 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 83.99 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 243.58 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 12.62% from 2026 to 2035. The rising prevalence of cyber threats and customer data leakage drives the market's growth.

According to Precedence Research, the prevalence of cyber threats in the BFSI industry is growing continuously, and BFSI industries are adopting the major emerging trends to minimize threats like cyberattacks, fraud, data leakage, etc. Some technologically advanced tools revolutionize the security process in the financial sector: the adoption of artificial intelligence in fraud detection, reliance on advanced blockchain systems, secure access service edge (SASE) solutions, latest regulatory technologies (Regtech), digital-only banking, zero trust adoption, and payments innovations are the major advancements in the cybersecurity system in the banking and insurance sector.

AI also helps in enhancing BFSI security by moving defenses from passive defenses towards adaptive intelligence. It uses behavioral analysis to identify fraud and continuously ensures that transactions are examined to identify abnormalities. AI can improve the security of computers and systems by detecting phishing, ransomware, and API abuse at an early stage.
