SABIC Launches NORYL WM300G Resin for Safer Water Systems
Safer Water Materials for Future Use
SABIC has introduced a new material called NORYL WM300G resin for use in water management applications. Moreover, this product is designed mainly for parts used in water systems such as faucets, valves, shower heads, water meters, and pipes. The main idea behind this development is to make safer and stronger materials for water-related applications. Moreover, the key features of this resin are that it is free from butadiene-releasing additives. In normal plastic materials, some additives can break down during processing and may release butadiene, which is not suitable for drinking water applications.
Also, this new resin offers higher performance compared to older materials. It provides better impact strength and improved burst resistance, which means parts made from this resin can handle higher pressure without breaking. Moreover, this makes it suitable for demanding water system applications where safety and durability are important.
According to Towards Chemicals & Materials, the water-based resin market size accounted for USD 60.95 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 60.95 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 118.23 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 6.85% from 2026 to 2035, due to the greater shift towards sustainable manufacturing.
Furthermore, this material is designed as a drop-in replacement for older resins. This means manufacturers can switch to the new material without making major changes in their production process. This helps companies adopt the new technology more easily.
