In September 2026, Synup launched Sydekick, which is an autonomous AI agent designed to provide assistance in local marketing tasks. The product shifts the company's model from software access to task execution. The Bengaluru-based company stated that the system is designed to carry out work across listings, reviews, social posts, local search engine optimization, and AI visibility, rather than simply recommend actions.

The launch also followed a rebuild of Synup’s platform, with an agent placed at the center of the product. The company developed its own agentic harness with memory, capabilities, and integrations, and runs the system on large language models (LLMs) and inference that it owns and operates. Synup rebuilt its platform around the agent and now runs the system on large language models and inference that it owns and operates. The platform includes more than 5,000 integrations and manages more than two million business locations.

Sydekick is intended to automate much of that workload through scheduled actions that teams can review and approve. The agent retains context across a workspace, client, location, and conversation, and can take actions across listings, reviews, posts, reporting, and AI visibility. The product can be used inside Synup as well as through collaboration platforms such as Slack and Microsoft Teams. It also supports MCP, allowing connections with external tools and enabling other agents to access Synup.

Synup also linked the launch to changes in online discovery, with users increasingly receiving answers from AI systems rather than clicking through standard search listings. This increases the importance of maintaining structured and verified business information that those systems can access, and of acting on that information across many locations.

Impact on the AI Market

For local marketing teams managing multiple locations, a large part of the work traditionally involves monitoring listings, responding to reviews, creating local content, conducting SEO audits, and tracking performance. As the number of locations increases, the amount of specialist time required to manage these activities also increases. Sydekick is designed to change this model by allowing scheduled actions to be executed by the agent, reviewed by teams, and completed at scale.

Unlike a typical AI assistant, which mainly offers suggestions, Sydekick is built to actually carry out the work. Agencies, for instance, can provide clients with a white-labeled dashboard and Sydekick experience while retaining control of the client relationship, branding, and oversight. The agent can also execute recurring activities such as local post generation, SEO audits, and review response drafting through scheduled playbooks. Sydekick can create on-brand assets such as images, rich media, and location landing pages using integrated vision, image generation, and coding models. It can also combine information across multiple sources to create location-specific actions.
