GE HealthCare and Volta Medical have strengthened their strategic partnership with the launch of a new generation integrated software ecosystem designed to reinvent the Electrophysiology (EP) environment. The collaboration is composed of the newly upgraded AF-Xplorer II AI and the GE HealthCare CardioLab AltiX AI.i EP recording platform forming an interoperable setting that boosts signal interpretation and improves data accuracy. This helps physicians make more informed decisions during complex atrial fibrillation (AFib) ablation procedures. The bundled solution should help EP labs cope with the increased patient volume and enhance their ablation strategies.

The AF-Xplorer II system is a significant development in Volta Medical's product line. They offer AI-based mapping and analysis systems that can detect subtle patterns in arrhythmic signals that conventional devices can miss. This combination strategy is an industry-wide trend toward digital-first treatment pathways, particularly with AFib becoming one of the most prevalent and clinically challenging cardiac arrhythmias on the planet. Both companies emphasized that the partnership is not only a technical integration but also a move to redefine contemporary EP processes.

This cooperation goes hand in hand with a broader trend toward precision electrophysiology, in which AI, automation, and multimodal data processing converge to yield safer, more predictable results. With mounting strain on hospital operations, such as shortages of clinicians or an increase in the rate of AFib, simplified interpretation and reduced cognitive load will be quickly adopted. Furthermore, the companies can establish a more adaptive clinical setting that enables the performance of more complex procedures with greater accuracy, consistency, and speed.

Théophile Mohr-Durdez, CEO and Co-Founder of Volta Medical, stated

“This collaboration marks a significant step forward for electrophysiology labs. By integrating our AI-guided AF-Xplorer II system with GE HealthCare’s trusted EP recording platform, we are delivering practical, interoperable tools that empower physicians to navigate the complexity of AF ablation better. We believe this partnership will help standardize procedures, enhance decision-making, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.”
