5C Network and BPL Medical Technologies Bringing OEM-Embedded AI to Digital X-Ray Diagnostics

5C Network and BPL Medical Technologies have jointly announced the launch of BPL Cortex, a next-generation digital X-ray solution powered by OEM-embedded Bionic AI. It is the initial instance of a direct and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) single system integration of the 5C Network proprietary Bionic AI suite in India. The partnership is a strategic step to smart, AI-driven diagnostics and changing traditional X-ray equipment into a smart clinical decision-making platform with the ability to provide actionable insights within less than a minute.
BPL Cortex is used to solve one of the most urgent problems in Indian healthcare, the increase in the disparity between the needs for diagnostic services and the number of trained radiologists. The solution removes the workflow friction between image acquisition and interpretation by integrating AI into the flagship digital X-ray systems of BPL. BPL Cortex can be used to analyze data in real-time at the point of care instead of using external software or cloud-based post-processing tools. They have traditionally depended on turnaround times before providing diagnostic results, enabling clinics, hospitals, and diagnostic centers to greatly shorten turnaround times without loss of diagnostic quality.
BPL Cortex also presents intelligent automated pre-report drafting, which creates structured radiology pre-reads containing intelligible and well-defined radiology. BPL Cortex assists clinicians in prioritizing clinical judgment and patient-focused care over the administrative side of the task by simplifying reporting procedures. The other characteristic feature of BPL Cortex is that it has adjustable pathology thresholds that enable competent medical practitioners to optimize AI sensitivity according to the clinical needs. Furthermore, the OEM character of BPL Cortex will make it a platform of the future, able to respond to changes in AI algorithms, regulatory frameworks, and clinical requirements.
