ATMOSPHERE Introduces PLANET 9770 SATCOM and Positioning Terminal for UAVs

In July 2026, ATMOSPHERE introduced the PLANET 9770 PNT Terminal, which is a compact satellite communication and positioning system made specifically for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This terminal has been developed to cater to the dynamic communication needs of next-generation flight platforms. It provides native IP connectivity with midband throughput up to 88 kbps for mobile-terminated data and 22 kbps for mobile-originated data using the Iridium Certus 100 satellite service.

The net weight of the system is 750 g, and it can operate in a wide range of temperatures, from -40 °C to 50 °C.

Software workflows are processed directly from the hardware by the use of an embedded PLANET application, which can be accessed on a web interface. It enables various capabilities such as real-time tracking, collaboration, handling of telemetry, and weather data upload services.
