In July 2026, Max-Pardo Roques, who was formerly Develop Consulting's commercial director, introduced his new firm, Boxtree. Enterprises in the U.K. are allotting a lot of funds for AI licenses, but the output has not been great. Boxtree intends to use the lean AI approach to find a solution to this problem. Boxtree Consulting, located in Birmingham, is of the opinion that a big chunk of the industry is using backward AI implementation, and that they can help their customers to solve this issue.

There is a significant disparity in AI expenditure and AI returns in the national economy of the UK. According to ONS data provided by the Bennett School of Public Policy, less than 30 percent of enterprises with fewer than 50 employees used AI in 2025, and 44% of companies which had greater than 250 employees. In June 2026, the U.K. government released the AI Champion for Advanced Manufacturing report, which claimed that a significant number of manufacturers are using funds on AI pilot projects that do not reach the commercial production stage.

The former prime minister of the U.K., Rishi Sunak, expressed his thoughts in the Sunday Times that small enterprises that do not adopt AI in their workflows would be at a disadvantage against their rivals. Boxtree Consulting has the target of closing these gaps. It is located in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. The lean AI approach that the firm has adopted is inspired by the Toyota Production System. It intends to automate various conventional processes that were manually done, such as checking invoices, entering data, maintaining timelines, and adhering to regulations.

Impact on the AI Industry

According to Precedence Research, the launch of the Boxtree consulting firm is expected to benefit the AI industry as it promotes the adoption of AI technologies in various small and medium-sized enterprises that have not conventionally adopted advanced digital solutions. The company also intends to decrease the gap between AI expenditures and returns, which makes the adoption of AI more feasible for companies that function on a tight budget. AI has demonstrated its capability to improve the routine workflows of an organization in terms of generative as well as agentic capabilities. It helps to increase the pace and efficiency of the organization's operations.

Impact on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Market

The global artificial intelligence (AI) market size was USD 757.58 billion in 2025, calculated at USD 900.00 billion in 2026, and is expected to reach around USD 4,216.29 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 18.73% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the artificial intelligence (AI) market is expected to be positively impacted by the launch of the Boxtree Consulting Firm due to the fact that the firm uses the lean AI approach, which will help organizations optimize their AI budgets while keeping the benefits of AI consistent. This will help AI to be adopted even among small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, leading to them being able to take advantage of advanced automation technologies and not lag behind big corporations. It will also help AI development companies get a significant revenue rise, which they can use for improving their research and development pipelines.

Impact on the Cloud Computing Market

The global cloud computing market size was estimated at USD 912.77 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 1,106.28 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 5,946.84 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 20.61% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the launch of the Boxtree Consulting Firm is expected to benefit the cloud computing market. This is because the firm intends to boost the adoption of AI in the U.K. by making it financially feasible for a wide range of organizations in terms of size. The deployment of AI needs cloud server facilities, as the AI models need to store huge datasets through which the algorithms learn continuously and improve their accuracy.

Many small and mid-sized businesses use cloud computing facilities as they do not have the necessary on-premise infrastructure to store and process massive amounts of data. AI models also need significant computing power, which can be expensive to host for such organizations. They can also avail the benefits of cloud computing infrastructure, such as ease of scaling their operations, being up-to-date with the latest digital technologies, and no need for significant upfront venture capital investment in on-premise infrastructure.
