In August 2026, Cognizant launched its Talent Accelerator program with 489 newly hired graduates from 58 business schools (B-schools) across 37 cities in India, including premier institutes such as IIM Bangalore; IIM Kozhikode; IIM Lucknow; ISB, Hyderabad; SPJIMR, Mumbai; FMS, University of Delhi; and XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, and several others.

The program was a two-week immersive onboarding that was held simultaneously across Cognizant’s facilities in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune, designed to help new hires learn about the company and its values. It also combined functional, sales and marketing training, alongside direct interaction with Cognizant’s business and leadership teams.

Cognizant is seen to be broadening its hiring of non-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) talent to build the interdisciplinary skills the AI era demands, with the newly hired B-school graduates reflecting this approach. More than 37% of the cohort come from non-STEM backgrounds, spanning liberal arts disciplines such as sociology and psychology, vocational fields like office management and secretarial practice, and design-focused areas such as industrial design.

The company also recently committed itself to scaling its Frontier-certified workforce to 5,000 Frontier Certified Engineers and 10,000 Frontier Business Operators. This workforce represents the human and operational infrastructure enterprises need to help convert AI capability into measurable business results.

Impact on the Talent Management Software Market

The global talent management software market size is calculated at USD 12.70 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 14.31 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 41.13 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 12.47% from 2026 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the workforce administration in companies is being disrupted by a number of new technologies, the most notable of which are cloud computing and data analytics. The primary factors influencing the rapid adoption of web-based applications and digitization are the increased demand for software solutions, and it is also anticipated that as more sectors adopt talent management tools and solutions, there will be a greater influx of updated and novel instruments. The industry is growing quickly for a variety of factors, including intense R&D efforts, a favorable investment climate, and the growing interest of major technology firms in the sector's advancements.

Human resources teams benefit from the conversion of workforce data into actionable intelligence by artificial intelligence, which then aids in the preventive talent decision-making process. AI-powered tools analyze the engagement signals, the behavior of the workforce, and the patterns within the organization to figure out the possible challenges of retention ahead of time. All these capabilities make it possible for companies to deal with the problems in the early stages, to improve the employee experience, to make the planning more accurate, and to align the talent strategies with the changing business and workforce expectations in a very effective way.

Impact on the Artificial Intelligence in HR Market

The global artificial intelligence in HR market size was estimated at USD 7.01 billion in 2024 and is predicted to increase from USD 8.16 billion in 2025 to approximately USD 30.77 billion by 2034, expanding at a CAGR of 15.94% from 2025 to 2035.

According to Precedence Research, the market is driven by the growing interest in making decisions based on data in multiple firms, especially in developed countries. Artificial intelligence (AI) may automate tedious processes like resume screening, further allowing HR personnel to concentrate on key projects. This efficiency might also result in significant cost reductions in hiring procedures and day-to-day HR duties. AI in HR can support fairness and diversity in hiring and performance reviews by standardizing candidate evaluation criteria and reducing human bias in decision-making processes.

AI can now analyze enormous volumes of employee data to comprehend work habits, career goals, and personal preferences. This enables HR departments to better fit everyone with experiences like job assignments, career growth pathways, and training programs. Artificial Intelligence improves employee engagement and happiness by personalizing these experiences. This opens an opportunity for the rise of artificial intelligence in the HR market.
