Cosmo Films Launches New Pet Food Packaging Films in India
Cosmo Films Introduces Pet Food Packaging Films in India
Cosmo Films expanded its Indian portfolio by launching a specialized range of pet food packaging. To meet the growing demand for food-safe solutions, the manufacturer introduced a versatile mix of BOPP, CPP, and BOPET films designed specifically for the pet industry.
Barrier Films
It includes Ultra High Barrier (UHB) metallized BOPP films to replace aluminum foil and COPET-coated BOPET films for better adhesion. Cosmo Films introduces TR-BOPP, a 185°C heat-resistant film with uniform linear tear designed as a sustainable alternative to PET print layers in pet food packaging. The expanded portfolio also includes anti-fog and COPET-coated BOPET lidding films for enhanced adhesion, alongside ultra-high barrier (UHB) options. Anti-fog transparent BOPET lidding films to enhance visibility and seal performance.
According to Towards Chem&Materials, the polyethylene terephthalate films market size accounted for USD 52.86 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 56.90 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 110.48 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 7.65% from 2026 to 2035 as product demand from electronics and automotive sectors is increasing.
Cosmo Films USA, a subsidiary of India's Cosmo First, boosted its North American capacity this August by installing a 120-inch high-speed slitter rewinder at its Chicago-based warehouse in Carol Stream.
Sustainable Packaging Demand Accelerates the Polyethylene Terephthalate Films Market
- Increasing consumer and regulatory preference for sustainable and lightweight materials is impacting positive market growth in the near future.
- PET films offer excellent clarity, high tensile strength, and better thermal/chemical resistance, which makes them ideal for protective food packaging.
- Innovations in polymer technology have enhanced the barrier performance and sustainability of films, such as soft touch and metallized PET variants.
- Surged consumption of PET films (including BOPET) for electronic insulation and display protection is propelling market growth soon.
