Dr. Reddy’s and Nestlé Health Science Launch Nutrition Product for Patients on Obesity Drugs.
Collaboration between Dr. Reddy’s and Nestlé Health Science Ltd., Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., and Nestlé India Ltd has launched Celevida GLP+, which is a nutritional supplement aimed at ensuring proper nutrition intake and maintaining muscle mass in people who undergo therapy GLP-1/GIP therapy for the management of type 2 diabetes and obesity in India.
The launch comes at a time when demand for obesity-management therapies and related nutrition products is witnessing a sharp uptick globally, driven by the growing adoption of GLP-1 drugs.
According to Towards Healthcare, the medical nutrition therapy (MNT) market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 30.91 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 61.38 billion by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.92% from 2026 to 2035. Growth is driven by the rising elderly demographic, which brings increased health challenges, including poor nutrient absorption and metabolic disorders, raising demand for specialized nutritional interventions and increased focus on individualized dietary plans tailored to personal health needs, rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.
CEO of Global Generics at Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd and Director at Nestlé Health Science, MV Ramana, stated GLP-1 therapies represent a significant advancement in diabetes and obesity management. However, a clear unmet need remains in supporting patients beyond pharmacological treatment, particularly in addressing nutrition gaps and preserving muscle health during therapy.
