DuPont Unveils Liveo C6-8XX Liquid Silicon Rubber Series for Medical Devices

DuPont has introduced its new Liveo C6-8XX Liquid Silicone Rubber(LSR) series for healthcare and medical applications. This product is a USP Class VI(C6) medical grade material. It is made up of a silicon elastomer that meets strict standards for medical devices. It has enhanced precision, reliability, efficiency in processing and molding operations. This material has lower viscosity and smooth flow as compared to the traditional materials which leads to faster and consistent molding.
This product is suitable for automated production environments due to which it facilitates the scaling of production with minimal human labor. This new series consists of 5 products with hardness ranging from 30 to 70 Shore A. This range of hardness covers a broad scale of design requirements for molded parts. This material possesses high heat stability making it suitable for device parts which are constantly exposed to high temperatures, for example, sterilization devices. This material has good biocompatibility under short term exposure in medical environments.
This product series meets multiple international standards such as USP Class VI, European Pharmacopoeia requirements and ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing. The products are manufactured under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 13485 certifications. Each product is supplied in a two-component kit ready for liquid injection molding. This kit supports complex part designs with consistent quality and performance.
According to DuPont, these new Liveo LSRs help OEMs achieve efficiency without compromising safety and reliability in medical applications. They are well suited for both non-implant and short-term implants.
