Fibocom and MediaTek Launch Flagship CPE Solution to Revolutionize 5G Connectivity
At MWC 2026, Fibocom, a provider of wireless communication modules and AI solutions, and global fabless semiconductor company MediaTek, unveiled a flagship Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) solution. This solution is powered by the FG390 5G module and the Filogic 8800 Wi-Fi 8 chipset.
The new design merges 5G-A's high-speed connectivity with the enhanced wireless performance of Wi-Fi 8, delivering smarter, faster, and more reliable network access for users worldwide.

A standout feature of this solution is the powerful integration of 5G and Wi-Fi 8. It uses the Filogic 8800 Wi-Fi 8 platform in conjunction with the FG390 5G module, which is powered by MediaTek's T930 chipset. This combination of the strengths of both technologies provides seamless, high-performance connectivity for homes as well as small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Another key aspect is the smarter multi-AP (Access Point) collaboration, which reduces interference by over 40%, thereby improving spectrum efficiency and allowing for seamless operation across multiple devices.
Extended coverage and stronger stability are also noteworthy features: with enhanced long-range (ELR) and dRU technologies, wall penetration and coverage increase by up to 40%, keeping edge connections stable. In addition, Fibocom and MediaTek achieve latency drops to sub-millisecond levels, while throughput doubles, even with more than 200 devices connected simultaneously.
The module supports 2.4/5/6GHz tri-band concurrency, ensuring reliable connections for AI devices, AR/VR applications, and smart-home networks.
Evan Su, General Manager of Wireless Communications at MediaTek, mentioned that: "MediaTek and Fibocom have maintained a long-term partnership, leveraging our complementary strengths in chip development and solution delivery.”
According to Precedence Research, the 5G customer premises equipment market size was USD 9.80 billion in 2025 and is projected to increase from USD 11.56 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 51.29 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 18.00% from 2026 to 2035, driven by the widespread rollout of 5G networks, expanding IoT adoption, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Expansion, and increased remote work/enterprise demand for reliable internet.
