Abbott has announced the introduction of its newest innovation in diabetes care in Canada. FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus is the world's smallest sensor-based glucose monitoring device. The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus is developed to enable people with diabetes to check their blood glucose levels and manage them easily and noninvasively in real time. This high-tech tool is now accessible throughout Canada and helps people with diabetes feel more independent and free to live their lives, as the traditional monitoring method no longer creates such a heavy burden.

It took decades to diagnose diabetics through routine finger pricks to measure their glucose levels. This is inconvenient in itself since it is painful. The laborious process of using Abbott FreeStyle Libre systems has been gradually transformed by incorporating sensor-based monitoring, eliminating the need for daily fingersticks. Furthermore, it is possible to amplify this experience with the new FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, which continuously monitors glucose levels 24/7 with a small sensor placed on the upper arm. Additionally, it monitors and constantly reports glucose levels in the interstitial fluid, sending the data wirelessly to a companion smartphone app. The user can check their glucose trends in real time at any time.
