Harness Introduces AI Agents to Triage and Patch Vulnerabilities
In August 2026, Harness Inc. introduced a set of AI agents that find vulnerabilities in software and write the solution code. They take permission from developers before shipping any code. AI SAST performs a deterministic static scan and then applies an AI layer to eliminate noise. The company said that the AI layer reduces false positives and detects any flaws in logic, such as missing authorization checks, which traditional tools frequently miss.
After this stage, any remaining flaws pass through a Triage agent, which shortlists the heap to curate a collection of exploitable segments in the codebase. The Remediation agent prepares a solution, validates it, and creates a pull request for the chunk of code with issues. The Zero-Day agent looks out for new flaws around the clock and provides notification if there are any affected systems in the customer setting, and also provides validated solutions within a few minutes.
The virtual patching feature prevents misuse of the vulnerable segment in production until the solution is shipped. It does not require any update in the codebase. Customers who are operating their own large language model scanner can also implement these solutions in triage processes. The company said that people with malicious intent can shift from a public disclosure to a working exploit in 6 hours; on the other hand, an average loophole in the system takes up to 50 days to fix.
The company said that the people who participated in Anthropic PBC's Glasswing Project of Anthropic PBC surfaced about 10 times more vulnerabilities by making the use of large language model scanning. Many security departments do not have pathways to provide timely fixes for that frequency of issues.
This launch invokes AI models that are as good as Mythos, which has been developed by Anthropic. Anthropic PBC has disallowed the general use of Mythos because it is too good at detecting and chaining software loopholes. Project Glasswing provides access to this model to only select individuals and organizations for legitimate uses.

Impact on the AI Industry
According to Precedence Research, the launch of the set of AI agents to identify and resolve software vulnerabilities is expected to positively impact the AI industry. These agents drastically increase the speed of patching any loopholes in the systems. They also enable real-time monitoring of the software for any new vulnerabilities and then find a solution to the issue. This launch represents a significant milestone in the use of automation systems to safeguard vital digital systems.
Impact on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Market
The global artificial intelligence (AI) market size was USD 757.58 billion in 2025, calculated at USD 900.00 billion in 2026, and is expected to reach around USD 4,216.29 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 18.73% from 2026 to 2035.
According to Precedence Research, the introduction of a range of AI agents by Harness is expected to benefit the AI market. Many organizations are increasingly worried about increasing cyberattacks as they adopt digital workflows for various routine operations. Digital systems have various vulnerable endpoints that need to be quickly patched to prevent any data breach.
Many cybersecurity teams have reported a rising burden to secure various segments in digital systems and are unable to keep up with the pace at which vulnerabilities are increasing. The use of AI tools has helped them to speed up their operations and enhance monitoring and mitigation.
Impact on the Cybersecurity Market
The global cybersecurity market size was valued at USD 301.91 billion in 2025, calculated at USD 339.96 billion in 2026, and is expected to reach around USD 969.45 billion by 2035. The market is expanding at a solid CAGR of 12.37% over the forecast period 2026 to 2035.
According to Precedence Research, the launch of the set of AI agents to identify and resolve software vulnerabilities is expected to positively impact the cybersecurity market. This is because it helps cybersecurity teams speed up their operations and enhance monitoring and threat mitigation. Such tools help small and mid-sized companies to adopt high-quality cybersecurity solutions, as they cannot afford conventional infrastructure and dedicated departments.
