Husk Power Systems has introduced a game-changer in its business model by unveiling its next-generation AI-based distributed energy resources (DER) platform. These moves are aimed at radically accelerating the provision of clean energy in emerging economies. This is the official launch of the company's ambitious Series E fundraising round, in which the firm seeks to raise 400 million dollars in equity and debt.

The company has already raised over USD 125 million and is estimated to reach over 2.2 million people across India and Nigeria. Furthermore, the company is preparing to roll out one of the most aggressive DER expansion efforts ever undertaken in the Global South.
The core of this new strategy is the Powering Prosperity platform developed by Husk. This is a larger-scale program developed to install at least 2 gigawatts (GW) of distributed solar and battery storage systems totaling South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030.
The platform is a logical extension of Husk's decade of on-the-ground work on developing minigrids, addressing rural electrification issues, and integrating renewable energy into last-mile communities. The company is now not only a minigrid operator but a vertically integrated clean-energy utility that provides customized rooftop and hybrid energy services to large commercial and industrial (C&I) clients, and individual households.
The improved DER structure developed by Husk is intended to address the broader range of energy requirements in developing markets. Husk Power now has its biggest vision to date: becoming one of the most popular DER utilities in emerging markets. The company is interested in electrifying communities that lack it, as well as in contributing to economic development by increasing the energy stability of microenterprises and agricultural enterprises. Furthermore, Husk is preparing to bring distributed infrastructure to millions more lives by 2030, to reinforce local economies, and to establish a new standard for delivering renewable energy around the globe in a decentralized manner.
