IntelliGenome, Inc. entered into a strategic partnership with CTR Scientific (Control Técnico y Representaciones S.A. de C.V.) to foster the assessment, commercialization, & prospective adoption of the CRISPR-TB Blood Test in Mexico.

This agreement included that CTR Scientific will promote as IntelliGenome's exclusive distribution partner in Mexico, using its comprehensive network & expertise to speed up the evaluation, market expansion, & future commercialization of CRISPR-TB throughout the nation.

Meanwhile, Kurt Wehrle, Vice President of Partnerships & Strategic Alliances at IntelliGenome, commented that this partnership reflects the development of clinical evidence, reinforcing access to CRISPR-TB, & fostering Mexico's efforts to bolster tuberculosis detection. Moreover, Alan R. Criollo Ródiz, Clinical Diagnostics Manager, CTR Scientific, said that this alliance with IntelliGenome will allow them to strengthen CRISPR-TB, a blood-based cfDNA molecular test to complement existing tuberculosis diagnostic measures & recognize major diagnostic breaches, mainly in pediatric, extrapulmonary, & other vulnerable patient populations.

About CRISPR-TB

This is a newer blood-based assay that determines Mycobacterium tuberculosis cell-free DNA (cfDNA), providing a potential solution for patients in whom traditional sputum-based testing remains restrictive, such as pediatric, extrapulmonary, & other vulnerable populations.

About IntelliGenome

They mainly cover groundbreaking CRISPR-based molecular diagnostics to enhance the detection and management of infectious diseases, like tuberculosis.

About CTR Scientific

CTR Scientific (Control Técnico y Representaciones S.A. de C.V.) is a well-known provider of laboratory, scientific, and diagnostic solutions that offer healthcare, research, academic, & industrial customers throughout Mexico.

According to Towards Healthcare, the North America latent tuberculosis infection detection market is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates suggesting the market size will increase from USD 1068.64 million in 2026 to approximately USD 1068.64 million by 2035, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.8% from 2026 to 2035. Stricter CDC screening regulations for at-risk populations, a broader shift toward expedited, highly accurate Interferon-Gamma Release Assays (IGRAs), & strong public health initiatives are propelling the overall market progression.

North America Latent Tuberculosis Infection Detection Market Overview

The region is spurring the latest research activities in advancing diagnostics & AI integrations, such as:

According to Towards Healthcare, the North America latent tuberculosis infection detection market has been transitioning to establish next-generation diagnostics, such as host immune profiling & blood transcriptomics. This will promote differentiation of recent infections from remote ones, & estimate which specific LTBI cases will strengthen to active disease.

Specifically, in Canada & the U.S., rising adoption of AI-enabled diagnostics & remote health services to simplify patient tracking, optimize data management, & boost screening efficiency in huge or remote communities.
