Zen Technologies Launches AI Powered Anti Drone System for Advanced Air Defense
Zen Technologies Unveils AI-Powered Anti-Drone System Capable of Tracking 100+ UAVs
At the North Tech Symposium 2026 in India, Indian defence technology firm Zen Technologies unveiled a new advanced technology dubbed the Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS), which has AI capabilities. Weapons designed to detect, track, and defeat air radars and drones, including drone swarms.
It integrates surveillance, electronic warfare capabilities, and the kinetic counter-UAS measures, creating an agile architecture with the potential to expand with the evolving threat of UAS, and further strengthening India's UAS defense capability.
Strengthening Counter-Drone Defense with AI
The system has a broadband frequency range of 70 MHz – 12 GHz, which allows it to intercept and jam all drone communications. It can recognize drone threats that are more than 15 km away, while its homemade radar can catch the small drones within a range of 20 km.
The platform also has "hard kill" capabilities, such as remotely-controlled weapon stations, as well as "soft kill" capabilities, such as radio frequency, GPS, and spoofing jamming or disabling drones. The modular design can be custom-installed in vehicles and be man-portable and opportunistically deployed for fixed sites to help protect military bases, borders, critical infrastructure, or high-value public events.
According to Precedence Research, the Anti-Drone Market size was calculated at USD 2.97 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 4.91 billion in 2026 toâ¯approximately USDâ¯30.91 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 26.4% from 2026 to 2035, driven by growing concerns over various drone threats and the increasing investment by governments and defense organizations.
Industry Impact and Outlook
The new C-UAS is a welcome addition to Zen Technologies' suite of air defense solutions, as the increasing threat of drone swarms in different sectors of air defense has proven to be poorly equipped to deal with. The firm's ability to bring together the attributes of surveillance, electronic warfare, and kinetic interception in a single platform is noteworthy, as they help India build a defence capability of their own.
