The Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust has announced plans to implement an app-based visitor management and darshan system in phases starting May 2026, aimed at enhancing the experience for pilgrims. This initiative seeks to facilitate smoother and more accessible temple visits for devotees from various linguistic and regional backgrounds. The CEO indicated that the system would help overcome language barriers, improve crowd management, and enhance coordination, representing a significant advancement toward safer, more organized, and inclusive darshan arrangements.

According to Precedence Research, the Visitor Management System Market was valued at USD 2.35 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow from USD 2.70 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 9.90 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 14.20% from 2026 to 2035, driven by increasing security and regulatory compliance.

Language-based support for pilgrims

Under the proposed system, devotees opting for Sugam Darshan or special puja services, such as Abhishek, will be required to provide basic information, including Aadhaar details, to enhance visitor management within the temple complex. As pilgrims travel from various parts of India and overseas, often speaking different languages, communication barriers can lead to challenges during darshan and rituals. To mitigate this issue, the administration plans to categorize devotees based on their language and regional backgrounds, deploying multilingual staff to facilitate smoother coordination, improved assistance, and more effective crowd management.

New system aims for safer, inclusive darshan

The administration has announced that the collection and analysis of fundamental visitor data will enhance crowd management and planning for darshan, Abhishek, and various other rituals. Officials are confident that categorizing devotees will facilitate improved resource allocation and more effective management of large crowds, particularly during peak seasons. Additionally, the app-based system is anticipated to bolster security, as visitor information will be accessible to authorities for a limited duration. The temple trust is encouraging suggestions via its website and email to ensure that darshan is safer, more organized, and inclusive for all.

A recent report by Precedence Research highlights that the Visitor Management System Market is benefiting from the rising adoption of software and app-assisted with AI.
