Maglut Heavy Industries Launched to Boost Rare Earth Processing in the U.S.
In August 2026, Maglut Heavy Industries was launched in North Long Beach, U.S., and is developing a water-based system to process and refine rare Earth elements indigenously. Curtis Wu, CEO, and Azhar Yerzhanova, Chief Operating Officer, who jointly founded the company, joined their employees in welcoming industry experts, elected management, and community members to their laboratory, which is located in the Artesia Business Center.
Mayor Rex Richardson also attended the event, and the other guests listened to a question-and-answer session between Curtis Wu and Rex Richardson. The mayor said that the company has finally launched and that they chose Long Beach as the location. He also said that it is very important for the defense, space, and manufacturing sectors to have access to these rare earth materials and that he is delighted with the progress.
Maglut Heavy Industries plans to revive the indigenous processing of rare earth materials by modernizing the industrial workflows. Rare Earth Materials are widely used in semiconductors, power infrastructure, defense systems, and many modern technologies. The founders of the company said that they took inspiration from a separation technology that the biotechnology sector has used for several years to enhance the purity of biological medicines.
Maglut plans to use a water-based process to separate rare earth materials at a competitive cost. The process does not produce any vapor exhaust, smell, or chemicals that could cause issues in the neighborhood. The company is also developing its own resin technology to decrease the costs and enhance performance.

Impact on the Energy and Power Industry
According to Precedence Research, the launch of Maglut Heavy Industries is expected to positively impact the energy and power industry. Rare earth materials find applications in various modern industries such as semiconductors, power infrastructure, and defense. Rare earth materials have a positive impact on renewable energy production due to the process advantages that they offer. They are used to improve electricity infrastructure, which includes power cables and transmission lines.
Impact on the Semiconductor Market
The global semiconductor market size was estimated at USD 627.76 billion in 2025 and is predicted to increase from USD 676.06 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 1,277.45 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 7.36% from 2026 to 2035.
According to Precedence Research, the launch of Maglut Heavy Industries is expected to benefit the semiconductor market. Rare earth materials are extensively used in semiconductor manufacturing operations, as their properties help to improve the performance of semiconductor devices. Lanthanides, Yttrium, and Scandium are used to manufacture strong magnets, enhance display quality, and enable gas sensing. This company plans to revive the processing of rare earth materials in the U.S., which would benefit the semiconductor manufacturing sector.
Impact on the Rare Earth Metals Market
The global rare earth metals market size is accounted at USD 4.13 billion in 2025 and predicted to increase from USD 4.55 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 10.83 billion by 2035, representing a CAGR of 10.12% from 2026 to 2035.
According to Precedence Research, the launch of Maglut Heavy Industries is expected to positively impact the rare earth metals market. A big proportion of global supply of rare earth materials comes from China and many other countries want to improve their indigenous production to decrease their dependence on imports. Rare earth materials are used in various critical sectors such as defense and semiconductors and hence hold national importance.
The countries that lead in these sectors are usually the ones that hold the most power in the world. The semiconductor industry is gaining more and more importance due to rapid advancement in automation technologies. AI models are finding applications in more and more sectors. Powerful AI models need a large amount of computing power, which is provided by processors. The semiconductor chips in the processors also need to keep up with the advancement of AI technologies so that they can provide ample computing power to enable AI models to function according to their potential.
About Maglut Heavy Industries
Maglut Heavy Industries was founded to improve the indigenous processing and refining capabilities of rare earth materials in the U.S. The company was founded in 2025 but came out of stealth in August 2026. Maglut Heavy Industries intends to use precision refining technologies that ensure ample speed at scale. The company joined the US Department of Commerce business delegation to the Astana, Kazakhstan Mining Congress in June 2026.
